“That’s great!” I said. Modafinil For Sale, Then he asked: “What should I read next?”

Great blog post. The only thing I would add is that many writers use research as a way to avoid writing. So, I suggest writing what you know first, then doing the research later once you have the structure for the book (or ebook). That way you don't waste time on reseach you don't end up using, or overresearching to avoid writing.

Best post I've read all year — thank you!

Love all the quotes and references to cartoons. Really livens up a post!

The only thing I would add to this magnificent model is to write with the expectation of not making one red cent from your work. Don't put dollars and cents in the forefront of your mind — put your passion there instead.

Ellen, I'm with you on less research for books. My Chapter writing blueprint in Ch 2 of my "Write your eBook or Other Short Book Fast! shows you the structure and the way to keep hooking your reader's attention throughout each chapter. so they will finish and recommend!

You're right. One creative challenge writers encounter is finding the best way to write. Do you write it first and then massage it or outline it. It may be difficult to stop reseaching and plunge into the writing and fill holes later. Having a writing partner to keep you on track will help as will alloting a certain amount of time for research and then going ahead with whatever you have. Whatever works. Best of luck with your work.

Melanie, Forefront -Passion-But I differ in pespective-always intend to make your books profitable. You will, if you have passion and move your feet to do what's necessary to make your book a success.

Comment by Judy Cullins on July 20, 2011 at 12:47 pm

Mike, I love what your said about finding the best way to write. In my book, I offer a chapter title that brands the author rather than an outline. And it's a Q and A blueprint that helps writers write naturally and easily with only 1-2 edits.

Yes, to a writing partner who keeps on track! To bad so many don't invest in this because of doubts-in their work, their ability to invest money, and many more reasons. One of my writing clients heed my advice and started a book savings account. She came to me ready to roll because she was committed to succeed. So far, she's published 2 books with me.

Judy, this is a great article. I like the term "contentpreneur" — good way to describe it. This model is not new, because all these pieces have always been needed to successfully publish a book, but it is presented in a fresh way, with a unique twist for today's situation.

It's liberating to write free from commercial expectations, but I think the challenge is to be clear about your models and your goals. If you want to write bestsellers, find books and authors to emulate and go for it, but try to do it differently and better. Best of luck!
